SLIEVE LEAGUE CLIFFS
Sliabh Liag Cliffs, situated on the south west coast of County Donegal, are said to be the one of the highest and finest marine cliffs in Europe. There are terrific views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Sligo Mountains and Donegal Bay as you walk towards the terrifyingly high top of Sliabh Liag, where the cliff face of Bunglas rises over 600m above the raging ocean.
GLENVEAGH NATIONAL PARK
Glenveagh National Park is a remote and hauntingly beautiful wilderness of rugged mountains, pristine lakes, tumbling waterfalls and enchanted native oak woodland in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains in the north west of County Donegal. At the centre of the Park on the edge of Lough Veagh is Glenveagh Castle, a late 19th century castellated mansion, built as a hunting lodge.
MALIN HEAD
Malin Head lies on the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal, at the most northerly tip of the island of Ireland. With the wild Atlantic Ocean for a neighbor, the area is renowned for epic coastal scenery, thriving birdlife and plenty of historical significance.
GRIANAN OF AILEACH
The Stone Fort of Grianán of Aileach sits on a hilltop in Inishowen County Donegal. 250m above sea level, the stone fort was probably first built on an earthen rath. The view from Aileach is breathtaking. The glistening waters of Lough Foyle and Lough Swilly are clear, as is the form of the entire peninsula
FORT DUNREE
Fort Dunree, Dun Fhraoigh in Irish means, “Fort of the Heather” and indicates that this site has been an important defensive site down through history. Today however, its stunning natural beauty and abundant wildlife are drawing increasing numbers of visitors to one of Inishowen’s most beautiful and peaceful locations.
GLENGESH PASS
The wild and picturesque Glengesh Pass where the road meanders through sloping mountainous terrain between Ardara and Carrick and rises to a height of 270m / 900ft.
